Save Some Money By Nursing

For all those of you who breast feed or have breast fed you know that nursing isn’t always rainbows and sunshine. There are those days that you just don’t have the time and your baby picks that day to snack and fall asleep in your arms over and over. Although a sleeping baby in your arms is the most precious thing in the world and all you want to do is sit and snuggle, it can still be exasperating. It can also be painful and you wonder who would ever choose to go through this willingly. Of course there are a whole host of other things that can cause you to rethink breast feeding.
For those of you who have not yet breast fed and are considering it I really do suggest it and will tell you that it is an amazing thing. However I will be honest and say that it is at times difficult and you may reconsider on a monthly, weekly and perhaps even a daily basis. It is for those moments of reconsidering that I am writing this. Perhaps even with the millions of books and experts explaining how it should be done properly I can offer a word of advice. There is no right way to breast feed or making it work for you! All that maters is that you feel comfortable with it. I will be honest. I tried to breast feed with my first child, who is now 3, and at that time thought that I had failed. I was bound and determined to succeed this time around but based on my definition of success. Remember there is no right way!

Tricia’s Reasons Why to Try Breast Feeding:
  1. You may end up liking it. Try it. Your milk is going to come in any way regardless of if you are going to breast feed or not. Try it for a day, a week, or a month. If it doesn’t go well then you can say that you tried and it wasn’t what was right for you.
  2. You get to spend extra snuggling time with your baby that no one else gets.
  3. Think of all the money you will save on formula!
  4. Think of all the sleep you will save by not having to get out of bed to make and heat a bottle. Yours is already made and preheated.
  5. And of course if you went to one of the professionals they will tell you about the bonding time and health benefits.
